Ensuring Safe Drinking Water for Children in Schools and Child Care Centers
What is Michigan Filter First?
Filter First describes a collection of Michigan laws designed to protect children from exposure to lead in drinking water. The Clean Drinking Water Access Act (HB 4341) and amendments to the Child Care Organization Act (HB 4342) are collectively known as Filter First. This legislation is the first in the nation to specifically protect children from exposure to lead in drinking water in schools and child care centers.
