Option: Two Vertical Grab Bars and Second Shower Head for Outdoor Pedestal Showers

Option -GB shall include two vertical grab bars and a second shower head with a pushbutton. When the -GB option is selected for outdoor showers, the standard pushbutton will be moved up to accommodate the additional shower head and pushbutton.

Grab bars shall be 1-1/2” O.D x 36” long and constructed of heavy-gauge type 304 stainless steel. 

The additional shower head shall have a 48” discharge height from the finished floor. Shower head shall be chrome-plated brass with a 2.5 gpm flow restrictor and adjustable spray pattern from a coarse stream to a fine mist.

Pushbutton shall be mounted at 43” above the finished floor and require less than 5 pounds of force to activate the internally mounted metering valve. Valve timing shall be adjustable from 5 seconds to 60 seconds.

Accessibility:
When installed with all other requirements, the -GB option will conform to the ABA Guidelines Section 1011.7 Outdoor Rinsing Showers (using Exception for Fixed Shower Head in place of a Hand-Held Shower when installed in areas prone to vandalism). Compliance is subject to the interpretation and requirements of the Local Code Authority.
